Denise McDaniel is an award winning oil painter best known for her plein air, landscapes, architectural renderings and florals. Her art reflects a lifetime of study and practice that began with a love of children’s book illustrations and is informed by academic training and museum scholarship.
Recent accomplishments include being selected for the New Jersey Arts Annual, the award for “Best Farm Scene” at Plein Air West Reading, PA, Honorable Mention at Maryland celebrates Harford 250 and Honorable Mention in the New Jersey State Senior Show. McDaniel and her work “Small Town Hospitality“ appear in the 2024 January issue of Plein Air Magazine.
Denise holds a BFA from Moore College of Art. She is an associate member of Oil Painters of America, the American Impressionist Society, The Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, and the Willingboro art Alliance where she founded the WAA Costume/Portrait Workshop and is a past president. McDaniel founded and organizes the Burlington County Farm Fair Competition.
McDaniel is a member of the Princeton University Art Museum Docent Association where she enjoys studying and presenting the works of great masters, ancient cultures, and world class contemporary artists. She currently serves on the PUAM Executive Committee as the Study Group Coordinator.
McDaniel teaches drawing and painting at the Center for Modern Aging, Princeton, and the Medford Arts Center, Medford, NJ.
